Bail Bonds Administrator Salary:$39,563 Distinguishing Features of the Position (Summary) Performs administrative work in support of assigned bail bond programs or function. Duties include maintain and prepare official documents, records, and correspondence for the bail bond board, prepare bondsman initial licensure application and renewal packets, maintain files regarding bondsmen, researches, investigate and mediate bonding procedure and practice problems; and prepare statistics and reports. Positions in this class perform routine data processing and identify needed corrective actions to resolve discrepancies; answer questions; and maintain official documents and records. Essential Functions The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Prepares official documents as directed by the Board to suspend or revoke a bondsman's license due to violation of the Bail Bondsmen Act or Cameron county Bail Bond Rules;Researches and mediates complaints and questions regarding bondsman practices and procedures from citizens and bail bond organizations as directed by the Board and coordinates responses with Board MembersPrepares supporting documentation, written reports and recommendations to the Board, coordinates case information, and performs background checks for initial bail bond license and renewal applications reviewed and approved by the BoardPrepares the Bail Bond Board (Board) agenda, posts notices according to the Open Meetings Act. Prepares minutes, and makes official records for regularly scheduled and emergency meetingsCompiles data for inclusion in the Bond Tracking System, records complaints against sureties, and updates files of approved, suspended, revoked and inactive bondsmen;Receives and processes official documents for assigned programs. Reviews documents for completeness and accuracy; pair documents to related information.Runs reports; copies and/or distributes reports; establishes and maintains both automated and manual official records and files; and performs record retention tasks as dictated by County policy.Provides assistance and information to employees, managers, vendors, citizens, local businesses, and/or and other interested parties regarding licensing and renewal functions. Explains policies and procedures. Additional Functions Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years of experience performing technical and/or fiscal control work in a criminal justice system or legal environment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. ADA Compliance Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions. This is not a Civil Service covered position .
