The Nest program offers around the clock professional support tailored to meet the foster family and child's needs and help both the parents and child succeed. Each child is assisted by staff with daily living skills, weekly therapy and permanency preparation activities. This program requires flexibility, patience, and experience, but the rewards are outstanding. The Nest serves boys and girls from 4 to 9. What You'll Do as a Relief Skills Trainer: Executes behavior-shaping interventions, facilitates appropriate communications , models suitable problem solving and conflict resolution skills while providing care, supervision, and monitoring whereabouts of youth. Introduces youth to standards of behavior in conjunction with the foster parent; guides appropriate interactions, and intercedes when behavior is inappropriate. Guides recreational and cultural activities onsite and in the community to help youth incorporate new skills and be exposed to positive community life in coordination with foster parents and staff. Coordinates, schedules, and transports youth in personal car or Agency van to medical, dental, and other necessary appointments or events during programming hours when needed. Guidance from knowledgeable, attentive supervisors who will help you succeed in your job Requirements: Two (2) years of experience in a social science, mental health or care giving setting working with youth. Optional: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (social work, psychology, sociology) and one (1) year related experience. D emonstrated knowledge i n providing services to young children in an individual and group setting including knowledge of Trauma Informed Care and DHS Child Welfare/Foster Care. P ossess a valid driver's license from state of residence (Oregon or Washington), personal automobile liability insurance, and pass a DMV driving record check. You may be asked to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
