The Cliffs Hotel and Spa Position Description Position: Spa Manager Department: Health and Wellness Status: Full-time, Hourly Reports to: General Manager Position Summary: The Spa Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the Día Feliz Spa operations. They will manage and coach staff; oversee spa facility maintenance needs; hire, train and schedule employees; and ensure guest satisfaction. The Spa Manager will work directly with the General Manager to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are executed, upholding the California State Board Standards and Regulations as well as The Cliffs Mission, Values, and Basics. Essential Functions of the job: Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling Día Feliz employees to meet the needs of the business Coach and counsel staff using Cliffs performance management tools to ensure all employees uphold Cliffs' policies, Mission, Values, and Basics Assist in managing daily operations and sales transactions of the Spa in order to maximize sales revenue Ensure sales and labor forecasting and staffing levels are aligned with the volume of business Manage spa membership programs, special spa events, and loyalty initiatives to drive sales revenue Observe and correct any guest related issues in a timely manner to enhance member and guest experience Partner with General Manager in using company guest satisfaction measurement tools to follow up on any spa related issues, and to recognize team when delivering on exceptional service expectations Communicate regularly with the Gift Shop Manager, Rooms Division Manager, and General Manager as it relates to operations, guest issues, and sales revenue Assist with meeting labor and payroll expectations, including monitoring meal and breaks, overtime, and meeting pay period deadlines Attend, assist, and contribute to management and departmental meetings as directed by General Manager Ensure all safety and sanitation regulations are executed as approved by the California State Board of Regulations Monitors usage of spa supplies and equipment and utilizes in-house communication management tools to ensure repair/reorder/maintenance of such supplies and equipment Attend Safety Committee meetings as a representative of the Health & Wellness department, complying with Cliffs safety policies and training staff on safety procedures Additional Job Duties: Flexible work schedule Able to work weekends, some nights, and holidays Education, Experience, Skills: High school diploma Degree in Hospitality & Tourism or related field is preferred 1-2 years previous experience as a supervisor or manager is preferred Working knowledge of guest services in a luxury hotel or spa setting Previous knowledge using Book4Time point of sale and scheduling software is preferred Able to provide exceptional customer service Excellent command of English language Ability to work with people effectively Ability to multitask and work in mentally demanding situations RBS certified Physical Requirements: Ability to stand continuously for the duration of the shift (eight or more hours). Ability to lift small packages (excess of 50 pounds). Be able to stretch, bend, bend and lift frequently up to 40 pounds in weight. Ability to work in stressful situations.
