The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County provides opportunities for people to connect with nature. We offer to the public 60 forest preserves, 145 miles of trails, 47 miles of rivers and streams, and 6 nature and cultural centers. We have 6 million visitors each year. The District's mission is, "to acquire and hold lands containing forests, prairies, wetlands and associated plant communities or lands capable of being restored to such natural conditions for the purpose of protecting and preserving the flora, fauna and scenic beauty for the education, pleasure and recreation of it's citizens. Job Purpose This position assists in the capture, editing, and export of photos for use in District promotional, educational, and informational content. The photos captured will be a variety of nature, scenic, wildlife, people, event, construction, and portrait images. This position will also assist in the in the capture of photos to be featured in Willowbrook Wildlife Center's visitor center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for identifying good locations for capturing natural scenery and taking photos of plants, trails, people, and wildlife. Assist in editing and exporting photos and organizing the District's photo library. Assist in recording video content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc. Record short interviews with district employees on topics including science, ecology, biology, conservation, wildlife, and local history. Expertise in these fields is not necessary but curiosity is essential. Perform basic photography tasks as well as tagging and photo management. Perform other duties as required. Schedule: Approximately 24 hours a week, may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on department needs and special events. Pay: $18.00 an hour Education and Experience Required Education: High School Diploma Related Experience: Two years experience in wildlife photography with a well rounded portfolio.Two years videography experience a plus. Basic understanding of TikTok and Instagram Reels a plus. Special training or other license, certification, etc. Knowledge of: DSLRs, Mirrorless Cameras, cell phone video and photos Skills In: Social media, photoshop, lightroom The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is an EEO employer.
