Our team is located at our new HQ building in North Austin by the 183/Oak Knoll exit (Riata Trace) and offers amenities such as a fitness center, yoga room, free breakfast or lunch on Thursdays (e.g. FOOD TRUCKS!!), outdoor dining area and café with a micro market. Under the direction of the Facilities Development Manager, the Facilities Building and Grounds Technician is responsible for the performance of routine daily maintenance activities, general repairs and preventive maintenance programs. This involves oversight of landscaping, irrigation and building maintenance vendors, in addition to a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks. You will be responsible for responding to branch facility maintenance requests through the internal Facilities Work Order system related to branches general operations, including but not limited to landscape, irrigation, cleaning, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC operations. You will partner with a wide range of departments to ensure the facilities and workplace are operating properly and continuously improving. A successful candidate will be able to problem-solve, troubleshoot building maintenance issues, and have a broad construction/maintenance skillset. In this role at UHCU, you will: Ensure vendor contracts are up to date, including all services to be performed with frequency, and adherence to United Heritage Credit Union (UHCU) standards. Submit contracts and revisions as directed for approval. Oversee and coordinate activities of maintenance, cleaning/custodial and landscape vendors. Conduct regular inspections and report non-compliance with contracts and sub-standard performance. Direct vendors on corrective actions. Ensure maintenance issues are entered into the electronic Facilities Work Order system, update progress within Work Orders, including corrective actions taken, and close completed Work Orders. Responsible for identifying, reporting and correcting safety issues at all branches. Report issues to management and record on Work Order management system. Responsible for general maintenance and building quality standards on a proactive basis. Respond to after-hour emergency calls during on-call rotation. Assist in the oversight of the Credit Union's annual ATM inspections, including coordinating with inspectors and ensuring conditions surrounding ATMs adhere to inspection standards. Assist with UHCU event setup, breakdown, and deliveries. Professionally represent UHCU in our community. Ensure timely execution and completion of assigned projects and duties. Must maintain professional relationships with vendors and staff, delivering a professional image of the Credit Union and working cooperatively with others within the organization. What you will need to succeed: Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with co-workers, vendors, general public, and people with various professional backgrounds. Must be energetic, self-motivated and possess a desire for success and willingness to learn. Strong attention to detail and organization skills. Must possess a well-developed sense of urgency and follow through, exercising good judgement and prioritizing tasks. Ability to solve simple and complex problems and ability to know when to ask for assistance with advanced problems. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Must be able to travel occasionally, and work some evenings and weekends as required for on-call support. Must have a valid driver's license and a vehicle, proper automobile liability insurance and maintain a driving record acceptable to the Credit Union. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Trade school/technical training or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 1+ years of facilities maintenance/construction/management experience with knowledge of, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and routine maintenance. Familiarity with hand tools/power tools and the safety standards associated with the use of tools. Demonstrated ability handling a high volume workload, working in a fast paced environment. Demonstrated experience and ability to work with a wide variety of internal and external clients providing effective interpersonal communication and team skills.
