Position Summary The primary function of this role is to support the Acquisition Finance Manager in managing the financial planning, analysis, and due diligence of the acquisition pipeline and supporting the subsequent transition of acquired businesses into the DCC Propane (DCCP) environment. In this role, you will support existing acquisitions that have not yet been integrated into DCC Propane and ensure accurate accounting into the DCC Propane monthly process, and then work with the Acquisition Finance Manager & CFO to integrate into a DCC Propane systems solution. To that end, you will play a key role in the scoping, testing, training & implementation of a new finance system to be implemented in DCC Propane. Supporting the Acquisition Finance Manager, you will work in conjunction with the acquisition team to ensure the quality of the financial modeling is appropriate to provide the CFO with acquisition proposals for review. On an as needed basis, you may also lead the financial due diligence process on potential acquisitions and report back to the Acquisition Finance Manager & CFO on identified risks & opportunities. For successful acquisitions, this role will support the Day 1 planning, initial reporting, and controls. This will include creating the opening balance sheet, performing the working capital true up calculations, implementing DCC accounting policies, and ensuring that the acquisition accounting is correctly booked. You will help ensure that the acquired businesses are able to meet DCC reporting timetables and standards with the correct level of control and balance sheet review. This will involve all areas of reporting and financial control for the newly acquired business until fully integrated. Furthermore, this role will support the Acquisition Finance Manager in ensuring that any integration of the business into DCCP systems is carried out through a planned and structured process, in accordance with an acquisition integration playbook, which the successful candidate will help develop to serve as a template for all acquisitions. Finally, it will be necessary to perform periodic post-acquisition reviews to understand performance against the original business plan to help inform the valuation of future acquisitions. Key Responsibilities: Acquisition FP&A - Working with the acquisition team to ensure proper financial planning and analysis as part of the acquisition pipeline. Data Management - Reviewing and analyzing the acquisition data room materials and preparing the data room materials for any divestitures. Due Diligence - Supporting the acquisition financial due diligence, including quality of earnings, working capital, and fixed asset analysis. Financial Integration - Supporting the creation of the opening balance sheet and performing working capital true-up post acquisition. Implementing DCC Propane control frameworks for acquired entities. Financial System Integration - Planning and implementing any agreed upon changes to ERP systems in those entities and supporting system implementations as required. Financial Reporting - Managing the initial reporting and controls from existing acquisitions to ensure accuracy. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience/Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant professional certification preferred. Big 4 experience or public traded company experience required. A high-performance individual with 1-3 years experienced of relevant experience in the acquisition and integration process. Experienced in acquisition due diligence / audit, working capital analysis, and opening balance sheet creation. Intermediate Excel skills essential. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Microsoft Application: Intermediate to Advanced skills required (Word, Excel). Additional Technology: Intermediate computer skills required on accounting software and databases. Travel: Occasional travel required. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required; ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation. Additional Requirements: A flexible self-starter with the initiative to manage an acquisition and integration process. Able to demonstrate a track record in solving problems and identifying solutions to complex business issues. Must have strong communication and influencing skills. Must have the ability to work well with employees, at all levels. Able to work as both a team player and on their own. Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and reporting. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and compile detailed reports. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Take initiative to overcome obstacles and ability to work within a degree of ambiguity.
