Systems West Engineers is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our consulting MEP engineering team. This position is located in and will primarily support our Bend, Oregon branch office. We are a team of skilled engineers, designers, and technicians, who are also bicycle commuters, artists, volunteers, DIY fanatics, outdoor adventurers, gamers, and sport enthusiasts. About the role Our team is looking for an Electrical Engineer who will focus primarily on performing the study, design, and construction administration of high-performing buildings with clients that are most often universities, healthcare systems, municipalities, and government agencies. These projects are often complex with critical environments. High-quality engineering is essential to the overall optimization and performance of these building systems as well as providing maintainable and sustainable facilities to our clients. The right-fit Electrical Engineer is proficient and confident in the design of electrical systems using Autodesk Revit software. The successful candidate has the desire to utilize their registered engineer stamp. This position has access to a team of resources including engineers, designers, BIM technicians, subject matter experts (RCDD, LC, etc.), and administrative staff. Competitive salary range of $88,000-$95,000, DOE. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan with contributions and company performance bonus. Candidate Preferences Previous electrical engineering experience in building design, or similar. Degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent. Professional Engineering (PE) registration And, previous experience with the majority of the following: Electrical distributions systems, including main electrical room layouts, facility power layout including mechanical equipment and receptacles, and familiarity with 120/208V & 277/480V systems Electrical grounding systems Data communication systems, including MDF/IDF room build-outs, data rack layout and fiber optic and category cable routing Selection and application of lighting fixtures, including photometric calculations based on room geometry. Experience using Visual 3D or AGi32. Lighting control systems, including relay panel-based system and distributed digital systems. Familiar with OEESC requirements as they relate to lighting and lighting controls. Fire alarm system, including main panel selections, detection and notification device layouts and familiarity with OFC. Standby power generation systems, including generator sizing, and standby distribution design.
