Kaiyuh Services, LLC is seeking 3-4 skilled Carpenters to join our team. This position constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools at an ammunition wood box facility.Location: Milan, TNFLSA Classification: Non-exempt Primary Duties include: Build, install, and repair wood boxes Prepares layout, using rule, framing square, and calipers Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels, and planes Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue Reads and studies blueprints, sketches, or plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated Performs general labor duties Complete general laborer duties such as job site clean-up, practice proper job site safety, and other tasks to promote an efficient and safe job site Assist Production Workers with assembling products and parts Assists on assembly and production machinery Unloads, organizes, and stocks shipments Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing Lift wood pieces onto machines, either by hand or with hoists Use hand tools to trim pieces or assemble products Carry out basic quality and testing checks Monitors equipment to ensure that products are being assembled properly Addresses problems with production equipment and machinery Observes and removes faulty product parts Examines materials and products for defects, finish, and grade, and accuracy of dimensions Operates equipment as needed Operates plant equipment as needed. May operate CNC machines Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Experienced carpentry skills Excellent craftsmanship skills Relevant experience in a manufacturing production environment preferred Ability to pass a background and drug screening Experience in Alaska Native Corporations preferred WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a manufacturing plant setting and interfaces with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.
