About The Role The position falls under the Infrastructure Department and reports to the General Manager. The Infrastructure Department manages the design, engineering, approvals, construction and commissioning of various hydrogen production facilities. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic team player with experience in development, review, implementation, analysis of design and project management of various engineering projects and systems. This position is also responsible for responding to a variety of challenges while maintaining strong interpersonal skills to develop, grow and maintain consultant & contractor relationships. This position will work closely with Project Managers to ensure the highest quality and timely completion of work on a daily basis. The Project Mechanical Engineer will support as a knowledge base and resource for projects, mechanical codes, and conceptual mechanical designs. The Project Mechanical Engineer must be able to learn and apply different standards and processes as new products are developed and as products and standards change. The ideal candidate will have experience in: engineering for a variety of projects involving utilities - natural gas, oil and gas terminals, energy projects, power projects, hydrogen, renewable energy, building; and, working with subcontractors and coordinating with multidiscipline engineering teams. Duties and Responsibilities Perform all planning of Mechanical systems including process diagrams, BOM, etc. for all types of projects Review, comment and manage mechanical schematics for gas facilities with professional consultants Support mechanical subsystem Hazops and design reviews Assist project management team to ensure deadlines are being met Support, interact and liaise with utility (Gas, water, drain etc) company as needed Manage, answer and maintain RFI's for contractors Support and interact with Commissioning manager for Mechanical sub-systems during installations Design conceptual schematics based on site requirements for consultants Assist professional consultants with company standard requirements for mechanical systems e.g. tag systems, document control, etc. Support and assist Mechanical QA and QC Support and assist at departmental level as required with commercial and contract administration for contractors and consultants as needed Support and assist with Mechanical system procurement including product selection and validation. Other duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications Mechanical engineering bachelor is required Minimum 2 years of experience as a project engineer, preferable 4 years of experience Strong experience and understanding of AutoCAD is required Familiarity with water & gas plumbing designs and codes Ability to communicate with client/stakeholders effectively Travelling to provide support at job sites (less than 25% of time) Any state PE license owners are preferred Preference and preferable for experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, pressurized industrial gas industries.
