At BCMC, The Radiology Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, evaluating and controlling the functions of all Radiology services including Diagnostic, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine. The Radiology Director reports to the CEO. This is SAFETY SENSITIVE position and must be in compliance with all CMS vaccination requirements. Position Accountabilities : Maintains records and reports and collects statistics for administration and regulatory purposes. Maintains radiological services in accordance with standards established by the Board of Directors and federal and state agencies. Manages the workflow to ensure completion of work assignments. Plans monthly schedules of assigned coverage for the different areas of the department. Ensures the deliverance of quality service to the patient. Makes daily assessment of personnel levels needed to maintain quality assurance techniques and standards. Reviews, updates and writes technical procedures for activities performed in the department. Plans and holds staff meetings. Recommends and advises CEO of needed equipment repair and supply procurement. Maintains adequate and evenly balanced supply inventory. Recommends action necessary for improvement in overall performance of the department. Works with the radiation physicist to ensure optimum performance of radiographic equipment and related supplies. Works with the radiologists to set standards of quality in techniques, procedures and patient care. Serves as a resource to department staff with regard to hospital regulations, personnel policies and procedures. Contributes to the effective management of department. Participates actively in departmental and hospital committees and task forces. Develops and meets goals and objectives that support department goals. Keeps the CEO informed of any unusual concerns, situations or conditions relative to staff, patients and physicians. Job Qualifications: Education: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Registered. Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration or related allied health field preferred.Experience & Training: 3-5 years of progressive experience in managing a Radiology Department.
