JOB TITLE: Service Writer DEPARTMENT: Service FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Dealership Manager Summary: Reporting to the Dealership Manager, the incumbent receives calls to the Service department, scheduling service work when appropriate. The job holder also records project labor and materials in computer systems and reconciles corresponding reports. The Service Writer also bills customers for work performed and engages in various administrative and clerical functions such as document transcription, scanning, and filing. Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Essential Job Functions: Customer service Service checks in and check out Customer file management Location expense management Non-Essential Functions: Accounting Make vendor check payments in ERP system, and print/mail corresponding checks. Perform wire transfers, including obtaining required authorization documentation from customers and notifying banks of transfers. Authorize Company credit card provider via email to make payments to specific vendors. Special Conditions of Employment: Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, job candidates are required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug-screen. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and enterprise resource planning software preferred Physical Demands: Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 20 lbs. of force frequently, and 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet without correction, color vision, depth perception and field of vision Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions Safety: Follow policies found in Seneca Tank's Safety Manual Special Conditions of Employment: Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, job candidates are required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug-screen Willingness and ability to obtain a U.S. Passport within 90 days of hire, and travel internationally when necessary Disclaimer: This document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job.
