Provide residents with robust group fitness classes in a safe, fun, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes residents of all skill and fitness levels. Maintain continuing education with an emphasis on enhancing the seven dimensions of wellness. Maintain working knowledge of adult fitness trends. Orient residents and staff on the fitness equipment. Build effective, authentic relationships with residents and staff. What will I need to be a Fitness Instructor? Must hold and maintain a nationally accepted group exercise certification. Certification in group fitness or related field, certification for older adults such as Silver Sneaker, or Silver and Fit, Aquatic Exercise Certification a plus. Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Training and experience in planning and leading exercise programs for the geriatric population required.
