A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LABORER As a Laborer, you play a critical role in helping us successfully complete infrastructure projects, including roadwork, highways, bridges, airports, and site work. You are contributing in a variety of construction project work involving paving, excavation, curbing, and trenching. Using your physical strength, you perform manual work and utilize various equipment including hand and power tools. Day-to-day responsibilities may include patching asphalt, pouring and shaping sidewalks, operating compactors, raking, shoveling, and site maintenance. In addition to the average construction responsibilities, you prioritize the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and the general public. Our hard-working laborers enjoy working in intense, fast-paced environments alongside skilled team members. You will leave the job site each day feeling satisfied and productive and see fruits of your labor. All in all, you find your job highly engaging and are happy to work for a solid and supportive company! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LABORER Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior related job experience is strongly preferred. Asphalt experience is highly desired. Have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 is preferred) A valid driver's license is required and clean driving abstract. Ability to operate a compactor is required Ability to pass background (driving abstract) and drug testing as requi red by federal and/or state regulations. Ability to work nights and/or travel to the Vineyard/Nantucket (overnight jobs) are strongly desired. Do you have excellent communication skills? Are you a team player? If so, you might just be perfect for this Laborer position! LABORER WORK SCHEDULE Our peak construction periods are typically in the Spring and Fall. Work is dependent on project-based needs, however a majority of our employees work 40+ hours during peak periods, and as needed during off seasons.
