Job Description: Welder Fabricator Primary Duty: The Welder Fabricator's main function is to cut, punch, and drill parts according to the print and then weld them together. Supervision: Supervision is by the Shop Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reads a tape measure. Ability to interpret shop drawings. Cuts, punches, and drills material precisely. Keeps work area clean. Lifts heavy objects. Operates a forklift and overhead crane. Setup, run, and maintain welder machine. Able to operate various hand tools. Works with Fabricator to determine what parts are needed and when. Follows directions. Performs other duties, as required by the company. Other Important Functions: Attends workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional development as necessary. Attends and/or participates in company training. Interacts well with all levels of staff and management. Performs related administrative work as required. Travel: Work does not involve significant out of town travel. Technical Experience: Experience working in a production environment is helpful. Welding experience and certification is preferred. Required Education and Certifications: Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Equivalent experience, education, and training may be considered as a diploma substitute. If operating a motor vehicle while on company business, job incumbents must possess current Motor Vehicle Operator's License and maintain proper personal insurance coverage.Must be forklift certified. Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility for other employees. Company effectiveness depends upon a strong teamwork environment. Knowledge of the different products produced by the company. Knowledge of materials used. Ability to identify any quality issues or defects in materials. Must be able to read and understand shop drawings. Must be able to operate a forklift. X Hearing : Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees.X Sitting : Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.X Standing/Walking : Must be able to move about production floor. X Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling : Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products and construction materials. X Lifting/Pulling/Pushing : Lifts, pulls, pushes, sorts, and carries supplies and equipment up to 75 lbs. X Grasping/Feeling : Must be able to grasp and use construction equipment and power tools. X Work Environment Primary work location is a warehouse/production facility. Work is generally performed between 6:00 and 4:30. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately high due to the operation of power tools and other machinery.
