OUR MISSION Through academic rigor, character development, and a structured learning environment, Soleil Academy Charter School ensures that every transitional kindergarten through 5th grade scholar has the foundation necessary for college success and a future bright with opportunity. THE POSITION Teachers will act as Soleil Academy's most critical lever in ensuring student achievement and forging a successful academic program. THE RESPONSIBILITIES To students: • Teach all core subjects daily• Plan, implement, and execute engaging and rigorous daily standards--‐based lessons to ensure that all studentsmaster the required content• Create comprehensive chapter and/or unit tests• Communicate regularly and proactively with students and families• Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies• Provide supervision for arrival and dismissal as assigned in order to maintain student safety To staff: • Complete other tasks as directed by the Principal as hired• Report to and be evaluated by the Dean of Academics To standards: • Assess students frequently through formal and informal measures• Reinforce school-wide rules and expectations THE QUALIFICATIONS Required: • Strong commitment to Soleil Academy's mission and vision• Bachelor's degree• Valid intern, preliminary, or clear California multiple-subject credential (or interest in working toward certification prior to the 2020-2021 Academic Year)• English Learner Authorization• Experience analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction• Openness to feedback and desire to continue development as a professional• Willingness to take responsibility for scholar outcomes and achievement• Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills• TB Clearance Highly preferred: • Spanish speakers Preferred: • Minimum of one year working in urban education with a history of significant gains in scholar performance and/or growth• Expertise in line with applicable federal and state requirements• If teaching TK, must possess requirements outlined by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing Charter School acknowledges and agrees that all persons are entitled to equal employment opportunity.
