What you'll do Document and test internal controls surrounding transaction cycles to ensure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) Assist in the identification of business risks to evaluate and improve underlying business processes and internal controls, as well as ways of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of operations Assist in planning activities and risk assessment to determine audit objective, scope, and approach Assist/prepare audit planning memorandum and prepare/tailor audit programs. Draft audit findings and recommendations for issues identified and discuss/validate these with business and audit management Monitor and follow through on issues/problems discovered in audit process to final resolution and implementation Assist with special projects, investigations, and department administrative tasks as necessary Complete audit projects including planning the audit work, developing the audit program, documenting progress, work papers, findings and reports, and organizing meetings Gather pertinent information through interviews and analytical inspection of documents; analyze data and information through the application of appropriate auditing techniques Analyze adequacy, reliability, and compliance of internal control systems Develop audit presentations and prepare professional, clear and concise reports of findings Interact effectively with various levels of management and staff in conducting interviews and testing internal processes What we need Bachelor's degree in accounting Experience with a Big 4, regional accounting firm or internal audit department preferred, but will also consider entry level candidates. SOX experience strongly preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines Ability to interact with all levels of the organization Must be able to represent and model integrity within the organization Must possess and maintain the highest degree of security and confidentiality of information Must be ambitious and perform duties with a high energy level and "sense of urgency" Must be a problem solver and work well independently and in a team environment CPA license preferred or pursuing CPA license or CIA, CISA certification Position will be remote, with travel to business locations Must be willing to travel (up to 30%).
