T he Engineering Technician/Fabricator will layout, fabrication, welding and fitting of conveyors, small platforms, and industrial machine modifications. As a key member of maintenance, the Engineering Technician/Fabricator will have the opportunity to work on projects vary from small repairs, custom machine fabrication and the installation of production equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and interpret blueprints and sketches Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed Fitting, welding, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts Cut, fabricate and tig weld stainless steel components Verifying dimensions and product specifications Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment Ensure working environment is clean and safe Follow companies GMP's Ability to verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, calipers, and measuring tapes. Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Minimum 2 years' experience with Tig welding stainless steel Minimum 3 years' experience in metal fabrication Experience using milling machines and lathes is a plus COMPETENCIES: (NOT POSTED ON WEBSITE) Knowledge of OSHA rules, codes, and regulations; and occupational hazards and standard safety practices. Good Communication skills: ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications; and follow verbal and written instructions. Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in welding and fabrication. Safely operate associated hand and power tools such as saws, grinders measuring tools, etc.. Mechanical aptitude with proficient shop math skills Applicants must be able to work overtime, and weekends as needed, Team player with positive attitude and focus on quality, efficiency, and safety, PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The below physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift 50 lbs. This position requires the ability to withstand working in a cold environment and stand for extended periods WORK ENVIROMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
