Assistant Mechanic

Description:
The assistant Mechanic is responsible for minor truck repairs & maintenance, fabrication as needed for clients as well as for the facility, and acquisition & delivery of various materials. In addition, they are responsible for assisting the fleet & facility manager in the upkeep of the facility & regular building maintenance. During winter months, they will be responsible for assisting with snow removal. Core Capabilities: Customer, employee, and quality focus Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) Team work Excellent problem solving abilities Responsibility and dependability Ethics and integrity Responsibilities: Vehicle maintenance (oil changes, fuel filters, air filters & greasing) Facility upkeep (minor plumbing, light bulbs, shelving) Minor vehicle repairs (starters, alternators, brakes, steering & suspension) Fabrication as needed (planters, upfitting trucks with tarps, ladders & tool holders) Acquisition of materials from vendors Delivery of materials to jobsites Usage of LMN Time to track time Snow removal during winter months Required Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge Welding & grinding Fabricating Minor facility repairs & upkeep Ability to backup a trailer Operation of skidsteers & loaders (preferred, but can train the right candidate) Required Experience & Licenses: Chauffer's license required CDL A preferred, but not required Plow experience is preferred, but we will train the right candidate
