Consultant Dentist RR Health Choice is currently looking to hire a Consultant Dentist for in house dental care for residential patient at a skilled nursing facility. JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the facility's dental services. Essential Functions : Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing our facility's dental services, including all programs and activities related to patient dental care Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of dental care plans, assessments, etc., as required Coordinate dental services with other departments as necessary Ensure that dental progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided as well as the resident's response to the service Ensure that adequate dental supplies and equipment are on hand to meet the day-to-day dental needs of each resident Be sure that appropriate protective clothing/devices are on hand for handling infectious waste and/or blood/body fluids Assist in making dental appointments and/or referral services for residents as necessary Provide written, signed, and dated reports to the administrator of each consultation visit Perform dental exams, oral care, extractions, etc., as necessary Provide for or make arrangement for emergency dental needs of residents Review resident assessments relative to dental care, quality indicators, quality measures, survey results, etc., and make recommendations for the correction of identified problem areas. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CONSULTANT DENTIST Doctor of Dentistry Degree from a college or university accredited by the American Dental Association Experience in Geriatric Dentistry Valid and current license in the state of California Knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to address the age-related needs of the residents served Knowledge of dental procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing care facilities Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the dental programs' goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., for the dental services Do you have dental care and coordination experience?
