Job Summary Provide a dependable, safe, clean, positive, educational, nurturing, environment for young children on a daily basis Duties and Responsibilities Attend required Orientation and Training prior to start date Provide age appropriate care Keep children engaged using materials and curriculum provided Be prepared in advance to teach each lesson Maintain clean and tidy environment (put away toys, materials, supplies and clean and sanitize utilized areas, remove trash) before children arrive and after children leave Use check in and check out procedures Communicate with parents Keep staff informed regarding supply needs or concerns with child(ren) Some occasional work on the weekends or after hours including expos, booths, marketing activities etc Qualifications Clear background check required Must have previous experience with children Computer and mobile device skills are necessary Good communication skills Professional appearance with friendly, courteous, positive attitude Ability to perform physical activity Must be flexible and a team player 45 Hours of DCF Child Care Training (provide proof of OR must be enrolled in courses within 90-120 days of employment) Attendance and Punctuality Attendance is an essential job function. This position requires applicant to arrive on time and prepared for each work day and event. The hours for this position are every Sunday 9:30 am to approximately 11:30 am Occasionally, Sundays will include events that go on longer for which you will be required to stay. Physical Requirements Must have the ability to lift moderately heavy objects up to 25lbs. and perform duties requiring extensive maneuverability and normal strength. Must also be prepared to run, jump and participate in physical activity. Equipment Duties will require the regular use of mobile devices, computers and other electronics.
