Description:
The Resort Grounds Manager position will help execute large and small landscape projects while leading an operation that maintains the grounds, ponds and trails. Some essential functions include: Works with the Director of Facilities to develop long range landscaping plans, set goals and prioritize projects. Prepares estimates for new projects within set budgets Maintain and install projects based on Landscape Architect plans and intents Establishes standard operating procedures for work of landscape staff Monitors plant and turf grass and identifies and addresses insect or disease problems. Mixes, applies appropriate pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or insecticides. Maintains irrigation systems and identifies and fixes problems. Ensures quality by monitoring, directing, coordinating the work of the grounds staff and outside contractors Maintains driveways, parking lots and walkways by removing debris, litter, snow and ice Performs routine maintenance on all equipment and vehicles, troubleshooting and repairs. Assist in the creation of the annual budget, record keeping, schedules and work orders Ensures job site safety as well as the guests safety around our trail system Plans and sets up holiday decorations Assist and maintain the water quality of our pond systems. Maintaining historic areas as well as eradication of invasive and tree planting resort wide. Minimum of five years' prior experience in grounds maintenance with two years in a supervisory and or managerial position. Be able to require Virginia pesticide applicators license(s). Categories 3A ornamental and 3B turf pesticides. Able to lead a team and work independently. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
