Position Overview: The position of Nurse focuses on providing direct patient care and assessment, patient education, discharge planning, patient instruction, patient follow-up, and providing physician assistance. The Nurse obtains patient information and updates medical record accordingly. In addition, the position is responsible for performance, monitoring, and quality control of diagnostic tests. Essential Functions : a) Uses acceptable standards of practice based on nursing process and theory to help the individual/family/group, with complex and unpredictable needs, identify and meet basic age-appropriate health needs. The nurse coordinates care of the individual/family/group using a multidisciplinary holistic approach. b) Promotes a climate in which consumers can act in their own interest or intervenes when they are unable to do so. c) Uses the nursing process and theory to provide age-appropriate individual/family/guardian/designated surrogate education using a wide range of teaching activities to promote health. d) Works to achieve desired health care outcomes by effectively utilizing human and material resources. e) Is accountable for the ethical, legal and professional responsibilities related to nursing practice across all the roles, within the scope of practice. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity. Qualifications & Skills: a) Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor's Associates, or Diploma in Nursing. Current RN licensure, BCLS on hire, ACLS within 9 months of hire. b) Training and Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in cardiac nursing including diagnostic testing and recovery and direct telemetry step down patient care preferred. Previous office nursing including Coumadin and Lipid management and non-invasive diagnostics preferred. c) Job Knowledge: Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Computer skills (preferably intermediate level).Self-directed and ability to multi-task. Friendly and positive interpersonal skills. Eye/ear/hand coordination Manual dexterity Knowledge of cardiac medical terminology ECG interpretation Pacemaker interrogation. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
