Your Role as the Leader of Data Services The Director of Data Services plays an integral, tactical leadership role on the Research, Data and Innovation Team. The Director leads and develops people including planning, coordinating resources, developing, and evaluating work of assigned staff with responsibility for hiring, firing, disciplining, recognizing, and performing performance appraisals. The Director also serves to ensure that all data systems are functioning and aligned with the mission. In this role, the Director is focused on building big data collection and analytics capabilities to uncover student, program, and operational insights. Responsibilities Include: Data Services Development, Maintenance & Training Assigns tasks for specified Data Services resources for all maintenance, reporting, conversion and training projects. Understands all Data Services tasks, start dates, end dates, deadlines, milestones, etc. for all ongoing maintenance, reporting and conversion projects. Support Data Services resources to accommodate the deadlines. Implements robust data QA to ensure high quality and complete data Provides ongoing visibility into College Possible enterprise-wide performance, generating actionable insights, and ensuring high-quality data and research to support leaders in making data-driven decisions Executes rigorous data stewardship to ensure data privacy and confidentiality Develops industry standard data protocols and clearly documents all data processes, including data collection, housing, and processing Annually designs and executes training for new users, as well as ongoing training for established users Assists in documenting all steps and procedures required to perform Data Services maintenance, development, reporting and conversion tasks. Manage effort to move all conversion Data Services Development coding into the quarterly system releases Cross Team Collaboration Helps acquire, and train additional Data Services resources as needed for multiple National projects. Works with members of the Program team to ensure systems reflects current program implementation models and philosophy Provides data to support the development, implementation and evaluation of annual organization goals and objectives Collaborates with the Sustainability and Development teams to report on regional and national grants Builds and maintain the systems needed to support enterprise data process with the Finance team Innovates the use of Salesforce to provide enterprise support (i.e. support the recruitment, cultivation and hiring of AC members with the Human Resources team, Grant Management, and Marketing activities, etc.) What You Bring Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) At least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least three years working at a national level 5+ years' supervisory experience Knowledge of national organizations' data management systems and data services strategies Familiar with analyzing problems, planning solutions, and implementing decisions Other Skills, Abilities, and Requirements: Deep content knowledge around college access, college completion, and career readiness Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong written and verbal communication Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a diverse set of colleagues, partners, and external stakeholders Ability to rapidly iterate and adapt when needed Ability to combine your visionary leadership, programmatic expertise, and results orientation to help grow and sustain College Possible Ability to implement cutting-edge technology, research, pedagogies, and emerging practices that lead to post-secondary success for first-generation students and those from low-income backgrounds Ability to analyze data and leverage it to drive decisions, as well as strong critical thinking skills that you apply to make decisions in a growing and changing environment. Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office Suite programs as well as experience in database management.
