Training Facilitator - MachiningNidec Minster Corporation has an opening for a full-time Machining Training Facilitator who will work primarily with Minster's machinists. The Facilitator will be responsible for providing effective classroom and lab instruction in their skilled trade discipline. They will use predefined training materials and assessment methods during the training. The Facilitator will provide training in Minster's new training lab and working with employees on the production floor.DUTIES Facilitates learning activities for training using multiple techniques, technologies, online resources, and equipment types. Monitors instructional lab activities, enforces rules, and ensures a safe learning environment is maintained. Assists in developing and maintaining individualized training schedules. Assists in maintaining lab equipment – performs simple maintenance, cleans and restores equipment when not in use, monitors condition, notifies Supervisor of any needed repairs. Develops and improves training curriculum, learning activities, and hard-skill trainers used in classrooms and instructional labs. Greets visitors to the training lab facility and provides facility tours. Maintains proper lines of communication with all Supervisors, Group Leaders, Human Resources staff, and other Training Facilitators (verbal, written, and electronic). Works with Supervisors, Managers, and Human Resources staff to create and maintain an environment that promotes employee commitment to the company. General coordination duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Works with Supervisor to achieve and maintain optimal levels of safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Monitors inventory of supplies and initiates ordering process as needed. Maintains and submits records of lab activities and trainee files, including grades and attendance. Integrates Nidec Minster technologies and methods into courses and course content. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and processes related to Nidec Minster products and services. Engages in direct production and/or on-the-job (OJT) coaching activities when not performing training duties associated with classroom or lab instruction. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Requires the ability to read, write, and verbally communicate at effective levels to trainees and visitors to the training facility. Requires the ability to interpret complex technical and instructional materials, blueprints, schematics, tables, charts, and detailed work instructions associated with the skilled trades represented by trainee populations. Requires thorough knowledge of manual machining, CNC programming and machining, and surface plate inspection methods used at Nidec Minster. Requires knowledge of technical applications of training content on Nidec Minster products and processes. Requires the ability to connect relationally with others, present lessons and complicated instructions, and project a positive impression upon guests and visitors. Requires the ability to use MS Office, including PowerPoint; MS Outlook email and calendar programs; all programming, troubleshooting, simulation, and instructional programs used in the development of the specific discipline's technical skills.
