EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Job Title Tai Chi Instructor Department Parks and Recreation Department Posting Date January 27, 2023 Closing Date for Resumes/Applications Open Until Filled Pay Ranges $22.00/ hour Exempt/Non-exempt Non-exempt Status Seasonal Part-time The City of Saint Charles Parks and Recreation Department is currently recruiting for the position of Tai Chi Instructor. The St. Charles Parks and Recreation Department's Tai Chi Instructors are responsible for implementing and facilitating Tai Chi classes to adults ages 18 and up. Staff is also responsible for general safety, guidance, and leadership of all participants in their class. This position is part-time and is not scheduled to work more than 1,499 hours per year and includes no benefits. This position reports to the Recreation Coordinator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Teach program participants age appropriate skills based on program requirements Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants Plan and prepare daily/weekly program itineraries and equipment needs Maintain a positive relationship with all staff, program participants and parents Adhere to all policies and procedures stated in the employee manual Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Must be a certified Tai Chi instructor Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older. Must be available to work weekdays from mornings to early afternoons. Knowledgeable and experienced in adult fitness and customer service.
