The candidate will manage DoD contracted programs including design, redesign, fabrication and manufacturing of electrical assemblies. R2C frequently supports obsolescence management of legacy systems (weapons systems, support equipment, avionics, etc.). Such programs include remanufacturing of legacy systems or assemblies from provided technical data packages, modernization and updates, and form-fit-function replacements of assemblies. Work to be done will include the reverse engineering and requirements evaluation of the legacy systems to determine how to best construct modern equivalent alternatives and testing requirements. Electrical Engineering will also provide technical support for the writing or revising of technical manuals to incorporate the new designs. The senior engineer will need to organize and task their team appropriately to support multiple ongoing and long-term programs in parallel. Ideal Candidate Must have Experience with: Reading, interpreting, and drafting engineering drawings and schematics Testing requirements and standards including environmental, emi/emc, etc Mil Specs and military tech manuals Materials and components specification sheets Interpreting contract language and requirements Quality systems including ISO and AS9100 Materials and component sourcing for hard to get or obsolete components IPC electrical manufacturing standards and design guidelines High reliability/harsh environment design requirements Engineering change procedures ECP/ECR Build to print manufacturing from a technical data package Hands-on work with equipment and the assembly process Other Desired Skills: PCB layout and design (preferably experience in Altium) Work with embedded systems Programming in various languages Design of analog, digital, and mixed circuits Good troubleshooting skills RF Engineering experience Power Engineering experience Sensors and measurement Desired Characteristics: Active security clearance Able to communicate effectively with government customers, subcontractors/manufacturers, and interdepartmental staff Highly organized Active multitasking between multiple projects with ability to prioritize based on schedule and deliverables deadlines Strong work ethic and drive for success Seeks out further business opportunities for the department Mentors junior engineers P.E. License or PMP certification are preferred.
