Davis & Floyd is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team. This position could be based out of our Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Greenville, or Greenwood, SC, Office. We are a multi-disciplined firm that has been providing engineering services to our clients since 1954. This candidate will work on the design of structural engineering projects that may include bridge design, building design, water treatment plant tank design and other structures. This candidate must be able to work well as part of a team environment and also be capable of beginning and completing a project on their own with little supervision. The ideal candidate will work in a strong team environment of highly motivated professionals for a family owned and oriented company that prides itself on integrity and quality. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks: Prepare structural calculations/design for projects involving steel and concrete Work with and lead design/drafting personnel in getting designs drafted Check drawings prepared by design/drafting personnel Work on various portions of projects as directed by the project engineer Solve engineering problems using experience, judgment, and education Collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Work with equipment suppliers to obtain equipment information Assist in the preparation of proposals for projects Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete bridges Must be a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of South Carolina or able to obtain licensure within one year Experience with SCDOT procedures is preferred Successful completion of NHI Bridge Inspector Course is preferred Experience in MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, MathCAD, and CSiBridge or SAP2000 is preferred Proficient in computer-assisted engineering Ability to manage and clearly communicate with staff and clients Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required A positive attitude and willingness to learn Company Benefits: Competitive Salaries Flexible Schedule with Core Hours of 9am - 4pm Mon-Th (Remaining Hours can be Flexible/Remote) Profit Sharing Plan (Company Contributes Regardless of Employee's Contribution) Company Paid Extended Illness Leave Professional Memberships Continuing Education and Licensures
