Building a stronger bridge between academics and the policy community and elevating researchers and their work with the news media are both key to our work, with the goal of making new research relevant, accessible, and informative to the policymaking process. Position Summary Equitable Growth is seeking an experienced Sr.HR Generalist with a comprehensive background in HR organizational principles to oversee and carry out a range of HR functions. The position requires a discreet, conscientious, and responsible professional passionate about HR and committed to HR's role in making the world a better place. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources (HR) and will be relied upon to exercise the appropriate level of independent judgment, leadership, and business acumen. The Sr. HR generalist has broad scope HR experience handling multiple facets of HR from start to finish, which includes full-scope benefits administration, talent management, leave administration, and tracking departmental expenses. This role is a key HR and organizational partner whose expertise will be highly relied upon and essential to the success of the development of the HR department. Major Duties and Responsibilities Partners with and provides comprehensive and reliable support to supervisors and leaders, directly and indirectly, to ensure the proper application and completion of all employee processes. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Reviews current policies and practices and makes recommendations to ensure compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law. Ability to comprehend, interpret, anticipate, and apply the appropriate areas of applicable policy, laws, guidelines, regulations, and ordinances. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and sensitive matters to the appropriate leadership. Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs, including but not limited to compensation, disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; recognition and morale; occupational health and safety, training, and professional development. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Attends Labor Management Team meetings; plays an integral role in defining and fostering a collaborative partnership. May assist in overseeing and supporting the daily workflow of lower HR positions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Responsible for ensuring the highest level of HR customer service to our internal stakeholders on the day-to-day HR administration. Works with equity, diversity, and inclusion-related advisory and action committees on strategies that promote a place of inclusion, equity, and multiculturalism. Assists HR Director in identifying and participating in recruitment opportunities to attract a more diverse pool of candidates for all job openings. Responds to and investigates conventional and complex employee relations and HR-related issues. Guides management and employees on HR issues and employment law and plays a key role in supporting the development of new programs and initiatives to meet employee needs. HRIS Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, as needed. Utilizes the HRIS as the primary tool for HR communications, actions, and resolutions. Maintains employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements. Required Qualifications Advanced knowledge of legislation and administration of rules and regulations impacting benefit plans (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA) and IRS) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner. Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Outstanding attention to detail. Able to ascertain when to take initiative. Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and exercise sound judgment. Other duties as assigned. You may be the ideal candidate if: HR is not your dream job; it's your calling! Education and Experience Candidates with less than ten years of recent relevant experience will not be considered. Ten to 15 years of recent HR Generalist or HR manager experience or combination.
