JOB SUMMARY The Tool Room Supervisor manages and review the activities of tool room personnel, evaluates the tooling requirements versus the capability of the tool room, and assesses and maintains equipment capability. Reports to: Tool Room Manager JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Experience 3 to 5 Years in a Tool Room role in a die casting environment Requirements and Certifications Computer literate in Microsoft Office and CAD Forklift Certified Crane Certified Tooling design and/or mold repair experience Capable of reading blueprints KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Supply positive leadership to the department. Assure capable tooling is available for production. Evaluate and develop personnel through classes, in-house training, and reviews. Evaluate and recommend departmental staffing needs. Support production on tooling related problems in a timely fashion. Attend last shot and scheduling meetings. Implement procedures and work instructions to support ISO / QS. Evaluate and request equipment for the tool room. Identify problems and recommend improvements to Engineering. Train new employees. Assign responsibilities for tool repair. Interpret control charts appropriate to department. Coordinate stress relief, special coatings, and other outside processing. Develop a die storage system with Engineering. Participate in meetings, offer opinions and support to other departments as needed
