The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a Distribution & Collections Maintenance Crew Leader to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Public Works department. The distribution & Collections Maintenance Crew Leader earns a competitive wage of 22.24 - 24.07 per hour based on qualifications. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE Distribution & Collections Maintenance Crew Leader Maintain and service water lines by digging up and exposing water main lines for repair. Perform water and sewer taps, replace meters, and repair manholes as needed. Provide maintenance to fire hydrants by flushing out the system, cleaning and/or replacing old parts, and painting hydrant. Ensure that the worksite is properly secured according to safety standards by setting up barricades in and around the site. Clean up the area around the excavation, replacing sand and sod. Inspect and maintain assigned equipment by checking lights, fluids, and brakes; keep oiled and greased, clean, and in good working condition. REQUIREMENTS A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Four (4) years of experience in the maintenance of water lines is preferred. Some experience in directing the activities of subordinate personnel is preferred. May substitute any equivalent combination of experience and training that would provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills listed herein. Valid, class "A" Texas Driver's License.
