The responsibilities of the Director of Special Education are to implement and maintain birth to age 21 Special Education programs and services in conformance to District, State and Federal objectives. Qualifications: Master's degree in special education or above Knowledge of State and Federal legislation as it relates to Special Education Knowledge of budget and funding requirements for Special Education Hold appropriate Tennessee teaching and administrator's license Minimum 3 years of experience as an administrator preferred Minimum of 5 years of special education teacher experience Fayette County Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, religion, political affiliation, disability, or sex in its educational programs or employment. No person shall be denied employment solely because of any impairment which is unrelated to the ability to engage in activities involved in the position of program for which the application has been made.
