Position Summary The Field Construction Site Supervisor will provide supervision, direction, and guidance to the solar technicians. The Field Supervisor is responsible for the team's production, safety, and delivery of industry-envied solar farms for clients and developers. The Site Supervisor develops reports of daily production, ensures the project is appropriately staffed and that staff have all they need to complete the job including, materials, tools, equipment, water, and safety gear, etc. Field Supervisor's receive instructions from Project Managers and are responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of the solar farm. This position is considered a Working Supervisor position and is required to perform all field construction functions as necessary. Primary Responsibilities (Essential Duties) Complete all required or directed training, certification, licensing, and other learning and development as assigned. Abide by all Federal, State, and local laws; uphold and maintain accountability to all Company policy. Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform preventative maintenance, track and schedule required periodic repairs or service, ensure safe storage, and operate all vehicles and equipment within safe limits as set by manufacturers recommendation or local law. Actively manage all aspects of the field teams and temporary workers, including performance, mentorship, safe work ethic, scheduling, productivity, logistics, and work schedules. Train, motivate and manage all team members to ensure morale on site is high and execution of their career responsibilities is being performed properly. Ensure behavior of field representatives are representative of company's core values and are in line with company's culture. Receive, track and record in writing all expenses associated with each installation phase, and all delivered inventory. Track and record all labor hours performed on site every day and timely submit to Company management. Track and record all sub-contractor work hours and performance to ensure they stay on task. Ensure sub-contractor is performing work according to subcontract agreement. Ensure installation of ground screws, rock drilling, and racking are being performed within the stated tolerances of the site construction plans or subcontractor agreement with client, ensuring that the team quality control checks 100% of all installed screws or driven piles. Schedule, hold and participate in regular meetings with department, teams, managers, and other functional partners to review performance updates, installation strategy, safety procedures, and any general information related to the project that will aid in successful completion. Execute, track, and record daily performance strategy as indicated by management team; draft and submit daily electronic field reports that include project status updates, project issues and recommendations, any interaction of consequence, suggestions on hiring and/or firing Terrasmart's employees and contractors. Implement installation strategy as indicated by management team during construction meetings. All other duties as assigned. Secondary Responsibilities Drive up to a one-ton sized truck while towing a trailer loaded with equipment; must maintain a valid driver's license as a requirement of employment. Operate heavy equipment, to include, but not limited to skid steer, TSM (Drilling Rig), mini excavator, and dump-bed vehicles. In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload. Licenses / Certifications OSHA 30, Hoisting Engineer License (MA), Valid Driver's License Physical Requirements Work is performed mostly in remote outdoor and uncovered areas exposed to varying elements, allergens, weather conditions, temperatures, and wildlife. Work requires large amounts of time spent standing, stooping, kneeling, bending or twisting at the waist, and walking on uneven or slippery ground conditions. Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. unassisted. Will be routinely exposed to loud noises (100+ dB). Must be able to work in sustained extreme temperatures ( 90° F). Will be required to wear PPE including, but not limited to, safety boots, hard hat, eye and ear protection. Must be able to give and receive verbal communications in English for HAZCOM. Will be required to lead team through emergency situations requiring immediate corrective action to prevent project degradation, or prevent personnel injury, requiring the performance of CPR/First Aid. Work Conditions Environment: Field Conditions Travel: 100% Special Work Conditions: This is an overnight/on-the-road travel position operating out of the assigned site locations. Incumbents are required to report to the assigned site location at the start of their schedule and will then receive company transportation to all required locations until the end of the schedule. Start and ending locations may differ. Field schedules vary in duration depending on construction and may run several work weeks without a return home. Work weeks are typically 5.5 days per week, 8-10 hours per day. Travel between, or to and from, assigned site location and home is not compensated. Work will primarily take place outdoors, throughout the entire year, in varying and inclimate weather conditions. Occasionally projects will require site specific Health and Safety Plans due to past or current uses. May be directed to work immediately following major storms, natural disasters, and other weather or man-made events that disrupt or endanger business continuity. Incumbent may experience stress in the workplace including, but not limited to: customer service complaints, competing priorities of reasonable or high significance, and/or working through the exchange of ideas with others.
