The Finance Manager has managerial responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, government compliance reporting, treasury, and bank compliance/audits. The Manager will play an integral role in increasing accounting controls, instilling fiscal accountability, and increasing the accuracy as well as the timeliness of financial data. In addition, this person will be responsible for managing account receivable reserves, establishing A/R and A/P metrics, and to continuously improve/streamline the A/R, A/P, and Cash Management processes. This position will assist in external audits, administration of tax incentives/credits, optimizing accounting processes, procedures, and policies, and the delegation of authority matrix with appropriate approval levels. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Essential Accountabilities Manages accounts payable ensuring the accurate and timely payment of all vendor invoices and associate reimbursements in accordance with company policy, maximizing cash discounts where appropriate. Manage disbursement review process ensuring payments are being made accurately to the correct destination. Manages entire accounts receivable process from beginning to end. Collaborate with the accounts receivable team in the collection process, including oversight of refund requests and driving conversations with customers and internal/external sales teams in any customer dispute resolutions. Manage customer terms including any requests for new or changes to existing rebates, POD's, or external commission rates. Ensure proper analysis is performed under the respective scenarios so that the Company has transparent insight into any potential upside or downside. Establish, monitor, and ensure proper Balance Sheet reserves for Bad Debt, POD's and Credit Memos, ensuring the proper net A/R balance in financial statements. Assist with any necessary analysis with sales and use tax. Establish A/R, A/P, and Working Capital metrics to measure performance and benchmark against best-in-class. Continuously seek out new ways to automate, streamline, or eliminate tasks. Assists the Controller and Director of Shared Services in cash management including day-to-day cash management, cash forecasting, and management of the line of credit and swing line balances. Develop, implement, administer, and continuously enhance standardized policies, procedures, and guidelines for the functions noted above . Review Balance Sheet reconciliations for areas of responsibility ensuring timely and accurate competition with proper supporting documentation. Support external audits and requests (bank, tax, customer, insurance) with appropriate planning and documentation. Contributes to team effort surrounding monthly and yearly financial close, including post-close reviews of Balances Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, Borrowing Base, and Bank Compliance. Direct and motivate the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, accomplishing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing HR policies and procedures. Assist in providing accurate and timely tax information to tax accountants. Ensures timely and proper filing of Federal and State returns, as well as Sales & Use Taxes. Responsible for ensuring the collection and maintenance of Sales Tax exception certificates and issuing 1099's as required. Key business support analyst for sales and any special projects. Participate and, as necessary, lead process improvements in support of departmental and company objectives. Provide support and/or backup to Controller as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A combination of general accounting, treasury, and cash management experience with 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment. Managerial/People leader experience 1-3 years. Desired Skills Must be highly motivated with good management and organizational skills complemented with effective communication abilities to interface with both internal and outside people. This position must possess a high regard for confidentiality and also have effective written and verbal skills.Proficient using ERP system (Oracle) and personal computers including Microsoft Office and Power BI Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred (CMA, MBA, or CPA certification desired or at least the desire to get such designations).
