Elementary Reading Specialist (Part-Time - Contractor) Do you know how to encourage reading in grammar school children? We want you! Who We Are The Learning Team caters to students of all abilities. The Learning Team's mission is to encourage, engage, and empower our students and families on their educational journey. We ENCOURAGE students to respect themselves, others, and their r esponsibilities We ENGAGE our students' intellectual curiosity and personal interests We EMPOWER our students to be self-sufficient and active learners Position Overview As a Learning Team Tutor , you will provide private tutoring to students who need help in all subject areas including executive functioning. We also facilitate workshops and offer learning opportunities designed to meet the evolving needs of our student population. Students will be tutored before, during, or after s chool hours. There is also an option to tutor on weekends. The ideal tutor will have 2 weeknight evening office hours per week and an occasional Saturday or Sunday block for private tu toring or training/workshop facilitation. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree preferred State teaching certification and license preferred Mandatory specialty training in reading intervention Some formal training in reading intervention Reading intervention and certification are required within 1-2 years of experience Understanding of Project Based Learning (PBL) preferred Skills and Competencies Highly organized, capable, and able to keep records, update documents, give proper and timely feedback, and meet deadlines Intuitive, empathic, and socially equipped to participate in team projects and effectively work with staff members, while building important relationships with families and students Highly skilled in technology and communication devices Ability to communicate effectively through oral, written, and non-verbal means with parents, students, and staff Fl exibility and problem-solving capabilities to bring creative solutions to everyday challenges Confidence and courage to have difficult conversations and keep a transparent attitude with staff, students, and parents Job Posted by ApplicantPro
