We are seeking nature loving, safety minded leaders who want to spend the summer days outdoors and guide the adventures of our summer campers. Our Elks Day Camp has horseback riding, rock climbing, archery, swimming, hiking and more on tap. We'll explore wildlife, waterways, plants and all of the outdoors. We are going to get dirty, have fun and explore our natural world. While familiarity with rock climbing and horseback riding procedures is a bonus, it is not required prior to employment with our programs. Come join our camp family for one of the most fun and rewarding summers of your life. We have openings for staff 18 years or older with at least 480 hours of experience with youth. If you are under 18, please apply to our general Camp NoCo openings. Qualifications: Age 18 years or older Provide documentation of experience working directly with school-age children in such areas as Sunday school, Scouts, sports, or babysitting. 460 hours+ preferred. 910+ hours required for director-level staff. Become certified or supply documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid. (We can provide this) Work well on a team, communicate well with youth, parents and colleagues, and be committed to high quality programming. Salary range $16-22/hr based on experience, qualifications and availability. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English. Staff working more than 10 hours per week may sign up their children or siblings for free YMCA camp too! More about this in the benefits section. Full time and part time seasonal opportunities are available. You'll serve up to 40 hours a week between 7:30a to 5:30p M-F. No evenings. No weekends (except one required weekend training May 20-21st)! This position is seasonal June 5 through Aug 4. All YMCA of Northern Colorado part-time staff working 10+ hours each week are eligible to receive a free family membership. Staff who work 10+ hours a week earn 50% to 100% off our programs. That includes free YMCA traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate and swim lessons, and half off YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, specialty summer camps, and childcare. If you work 20+ hours a week, your benefits grow from there. Sick time is earned from day 1, and we make contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund for eligible staff.
