Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the part-time position of Graduate Assistant - Men's Lacrosse. This position reports directly to the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach and is located in River Forest, IL. The Men's Lacrosse Graduate Assistant serves as an assistant coach which includes responsibilities related to on-field instruction, assisting in travel, scouting, recruiting qualified student-athletes to the program, and community involvement. Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Concordia University Chicago graduate program. Graduate Assistant contracts run consistent with the academic year and offer tuition remission and a weekly stipend. Responsibilities/Duties: Assists the Head Coach in day-to-day practice organization and planning (both in traditional and non-traditional seasons, as defined by NCAA) Develops player skillsets through on-field and off-field instruction Assists the head coach in opponent scouting, including strategy and film Assists the head coach to in travel preparation Connects with players through meetings, individual instruction, and team instruction to maintain health and promote academic success Represents the department, program, and university during team travel, recruiting, and day-to-day program management Identifies, recruits, and helps retain quality student-athletes Develops and implements effective communication and recruiting strategies Travels to and attends recruiting events as needed Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) Requirements: Bachelor's degree required Candidate must be accepted into a graduate degree program at Concordia University Chicago Minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA and have valid driver's license Demonstrated success in playing lacrosse at the college level and strong knowledge of NCAA rules Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills Previous recruiting experience preferred Previous experience in offensive instruction preferred Application Information: Interested individuals should include a cover letter, resume and references with their online application.
