THE POSITION Residential Team Leader Northeast Kingdom Human Services is seeking a Residential Team Leader to provide site specific leadership for residential homes in the Sheffield and Sutton area of Vermont. As a Residential Team Leader you will bring professional leadership skills for the overall management and daily operations of staffed living homes for Intellectual & Developmental Disabled adults. The IDDS, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services Team are dedicated individuals with the heart and passion for helping people with intellectual/developmental disabilities live more independently, pursue their personal interests and goals, and be an active part of their community. About Northeast Kingdom Human Services NKHS is a 501(c)(3) private not-for-profit organization operating with the purpose of promoting high quality, comprehensive community mental health programs in Vermont's beautiful Northeast Kingdom. Our mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities by promoting hope, healing, and support. NKHS is a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont to provide the highest quality of service in the areas of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children and youth with serious emotional disabilities, and adults with mental health and substance use challenges. We serve the populations of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties through a wide variety of targeted programs for individuals of all ages. NKHS has over 450 employees providing case management, community and home supports, residential care, psychiatry, medication management, therapy, vocational supports, school based counseling, emergency care, and respite services. Visit us at NKHS.org Check out Life in the NEK of Vermont ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / SUMMARY The Residential Team Leader will assist in the hiring and management of staff while implementing and participating in the design of Individual Support Agreements as directed. Provide after-hours, on-call crisis support to the Home. Insure continuity of residential services for medical and programmatic needs for residents. This includes education and training on self-care and other assisted needs as necessary. Adhere and to all state, federal, and agency regulations to insure for the continued operation of program. RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE Assisting the Program Manager in the overall operation of a Staffed Living home. Assisting the Program Manager in maintaining adequate staff to meet requirements of the program and to supervise, schedule and support staff in the exercise of their duties. Assisting the Program Manager in maintaining compliance with any and all applicable regulations and NKHS policies. Assisting Program Manager in managing program budget and maintaining fiscal integrity. Collaborating with other agency personnel and departments, including but not limited to Nursing, Facilities and Maintenance, IT, Human Resources, Business Office, and Administrative Support staff to meet program needs while adhering to NKHS policies, procedures and mission. Assist in the maintenance of the facilities in a safe, clean and home-like manner Responsible for assisting the Program Manager to ensure that residential staff receive training in accordance with Department of Aging and Independent Living guidelines, NKHS policies, and best practice standards. Responsible for assisting the Program Manager in overseeing the development and implementation of client-specific plans and protocols by residential staff. Provide for the physical, emotional, therapeutic and adaptive needs of the consumers, including but not limited to physical care, training, assistance in daily living skills, and care and supervision of all activities of daily living. Must be willing to work flexible hours when needed or requested QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree in human services field or equivalent experience in human services field preferred. Administrative and/or supervisory experience preferred. A plus for demonstrated experience and competence in working with individuals who are developmentally disabled.
