Senior Accountant

Description:
Objective We are seeking a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting of our monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements. Responsibilities and Duties 1. Prepare monthly trial balance reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.2. Post journal entries.3. Assist with the monthly close process.4. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.5. Act as liaison with external audits6. Prepare sales tax returns7. Prepare reports for a multi-company environment on regular, special, and as needed basis.8. Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Competencies 1.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products2.Minimum 5 years of business experience with emphasis on day to day accounting functions3. Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP4. Must be reliable and dependable.5. Ability to exercise independent direction and judgement, and work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.6. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking skills7.Experience in a multi-company environment preferred.8. Ability to successfully complete tasks that require high attention to detail, with minimal supervision.Accounting activities including financial reporting and year end audit preparation. Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer Work Environment This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is an exempt position. Set schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's in accounting 5 years of business accounting experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with a large automated accounting system a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
