Job Title: ZipTour Assistant Manager Department: Mountain Operations Reports To: ZipTour Manager Rate of Pay: $20.00/ Hour Shift: Part-time Year Round position with Full time seasonal presence; Weekends, holidays and special events are required based on business needs. SUMMARY Assist the ZipTour Manager with all aspects of the ZipTour department. Assist with the supervision of ZipTour operations and operators; focusing on providing a safe, informative, and enjoyable ZipTour experience for our guests. Provide transformational experiences and genuine service executed passionately. The ZipTour Assistant Manager ensures the ZipTour Office operations run according to budget, efficiently, professionally, accurately, consistently, and that all staff demonstrate excellent guest service skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Fully understand the operation and inspection procedures pertaining to the ZipTour®. Be present and observe operations on a daily basis. Has a full understanding of the maintenance needs and an overall concept of the design function of the ZipTour® ride system. Ensure that ZipTour® training guidelines are followed during operation and provide ZipTour® operations training to new employees. This training will consist of a minimum of 8 hours of training plus an observation period. Read and understand full ZipTour operations manual for all equipment systems utilized Distribute ZipTour® Operations and Maintenance Manuals to all operators of The ZipTour® and for passing on revisions or bulletins from ZipTour, LLC to all operators. Ensure that daily inspections are completed and filed prior to opening for operation; review any item failing inspection. Appropriate action should be taken to repair the failed item (if applicable) or to remove the piece of equipment from service and report the failure to the manager immediately. Understand all rescue procedures and be ready to coordinate any rescue effort. Available to fill any ZipTour Operation or Office position if the need arises. Communicate any concerns or problems to the ZipTour Manager on a regular basis. Help create work schedule for ZipTour Operators and Clerks in Ready, Set, Work. Assist in hiring of ZipTour employees. Support and interpret company policies to the workers, enforce policies; rewarding and coaching employees using the designated Sundance coaching and accountability tools. Train staff to support the on-mountain recycling program and share the Sundance story of land conservation and environmental commitment. Analyze and resolve work problems and will assist in solving these problems. Initiate plans and motivate employees. Perform all other tasks required of employees as needed. Address any complaints and resolve problems with the public, as needed. Have a basic understanding of Polaris Ranger maintenance. Report service needs when necessary. Coordinate weather hold logistics with guest evacuations, communicating information to guests and operators, and necessary refunds or rain checks. Assist in the training of all ZipTour employees to the Sundance Standard. Assist manager in annual NDT and inspection processes. Have at least two seasons of ZipTour experience or exhibit competence in the ZipTour ride system and Sundance Mountain Resort specific mountain operations. Ensure that every guest who comes in contact with the ZipTour Office is serviced according to Sundance standards. Resolve customer and employee complaints, concerns, and problems efficiently, consistently, and professionally. Knows ZipTour rates and handles all associated transactions at front desk. Proficiently use Fareharbor back-end reports, creating and editing items, creating and editing discount codes, custom field uses, and online booking status. Run Infogenesis point of sale transactions including cash, credit cards, gift certificates, and voucher redemption. Process retail sales through Infogenesis, working with the Infogenesis-computer and balancing cash drawers. Ensure that every guest has completed the liability waiver through the online program SmartWaiver. As well as ensuring that each participant is meeting all rider requirements before participating on the ZipTour. Greet guests and customers and answer all questions regarding the ZipTour office, Mtn. Operations, weather conditions, and Sundance. Ensure all accounting duties of ZipTour office are performed and reported accurately. Work closely with Accounting and assist in troubleshooting any reporting or revenue discrepancies. Work with ZipTour Manager to coordinate group sales either interdepartmentally or externally. Train staff utilizing the most recent version of the ZipTour operations and office manual, and SOP for local operating procedures. Work well under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally. Assume leadership role at all times. Create a positive and fun atmosphere for employees and guests. Assist ZipTour Manager in creating effective ZipTour Office systems to optimize efficiency and service, including any promotional sales events. Conduct daily, weekly, and seasonal staff trainings and the corresponding training paperwork. Conduct daily morning meetings. Update official Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as necessary and coordinate revisions with HR. Understands and utilizes all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and cultivates a positive culture around PPE usage. ALL SUNDANCE REPRESENTATIVES ARE EXPECTED TO Embrace and promote all facets of the Sundance Guiding Principles: vision, mission, service standards, and values. Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Sundance departments, amenities and programming ventures. Be flexible to meet business demands, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage time appropriately. Work with a broad based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement. Support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards. Protect Sundance assets. Be a positive ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work. ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example: minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wildlife habitats, and carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise 35-40 seasonal ZipTour employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner. DRESS CODE Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. As representatives of Sundance and leaders of our teams, mangers are expected to set the example for all employees. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, managers and supervisors are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard. All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance. Must wear designated uniform t-shirt at all times Wear nametags at all times while on duty. Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed). Blue jeans are permitted. Men's shirts must be tucked in. A tailored fit is required of all clothing. Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited. Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females. Bare midriffs are prohibited. Closed toe and heal footwear is required - a sturdy work shoe is strongly recommended Shorts may not be shorter than 2" above knee. Flip flops are prohibited in all areas. If your department allows t-shirts, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos. If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos. If your department allows beanies, they must be in good condition and Sundance branded. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS Must possess a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, internet navigation, and electronic mail. Proficient use of a 2-way radio is frequently required. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Based on Ziptour Rider Requirements, Zipline Operators must meet the following standards to ride the Zipline: Measure between 48" and 82" tall. Weigh between 40 and 260 pounds. Must not be pregnant. No history of neck, back or spine injuries.
