Light of Life Rescue Mission is a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area. We are seeking a full-time Program Administrator . This position works closely with the Director of Programs to manage schedules, compile reports, facilitate meetings and organize events. Understanding Light of Life's Program offerings and how the ministry collaborates with community partners and a referral network is crucial. It requires a strong sense of organization, solid customer service skills, ability to follow internal operational protocols, attention to detail, discretion, and good judgment when dealing with confidential information. Light of Life is committed to building a staff community that reflects the diversity of His creation. ~ Jerrel Gilliam, Executive Director You will be responsible for: Supporting the Director of Programs in matters of scheduling, meeting preparation, and event coordination. Facilitate meetings in partnership or in place of the Director of Programs. Serve as a liaison between the Programs Department and community partnership agencies to build greater collaboration and address new needs. Assist program reporting to the Board of Directors. Answering incoming phone calls, initiating the Light of Life intake process, transferring calls, and taking messages Responding to inquiries, which may include compassionate ministry to callers or linking them to outside agencies. Exemplifying Jesus Christ to guests being prepared to share the Gospel and pray with callers Due to the interface with the clients, Light of Life considers every position to be essential in the fulfillment of our ministry and as such, requires employees to: Participate in the ministry of Light of Life Rescue Mission and walk alongside clients sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them through actions and words. Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the Light of Life staff handbook. Practice Christlike stewardship of all resources. Subscribe to and embrace Light of Life's Statement of Faith, Values, and Principles. Skills and Qualifications: Comfortable working autonomously and across multiple tasks Proficiency with MS office cloud applications, including SharePoint, Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent social skills, able to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy A high degree of personal organization, time management, and ability to prioritize tasks Ability to think clearly in an emergency or crisis situation Education and Work Experience: Bachelor 's degree in the field of social services, l iberal arts or management preferred. Experienced with addiction and recovery and working with homeless persons preferred. 2-3 years administrative assistant experience, preferrably in a non-profit setting.
