Ian's Pizza is growing... grow with us! About Ian's Pizza On Halloween of 2001, we opened our first shop in Madison, WI. Mac n' cheese pizza was basically unheard of back then (sources not cited), and we were blasting Emo tunes like the angsty young'uns we were. But it's 2023, and our little restaurant franchise is all grown up now! We now have 9 shops total between Madison, Milwaukee, Denver, and Seattle. Pies are flying out of our ovens for lunch crowds, dinner rushes, and late-night munchies. We prioritize our people and communities, recognizing that without them, we're nothing! Between the collaborations with local nonprofits and our career opportunities and benefits, we are constantly working on living up to our goal of being the People's Pizza. Assistant Manager Job Duties and Expectations It's your job to create a comfortable, satisfying work environment while meeting or exceeding the quality, service, cleanliness, and safety standards of Ian's Pizza. You support the General Manager with overall daily restaurant operations, including but not limited to: product ordering, vendor relationships, implementation of systems or processes, staff training and reviews, and staffing scheduling. We want you to grow with us! We've found that the best opportunity to learn the business and grow as a manager is to spend time training and working at multiple locations. So the Management Training Program for Assistant Managers lasts about 9 months and includes rotations between 2-3 Madison restaurant locations to support and learn from the managers at different locations. You will attend all staff, team, and manager meetings unless adequate notice is given. We use Google Docs, Calendar, Drive, etc so you'll be expected to learn these tools and use 'em! Here's what you need to be a success as an Assistant Manager at Ian's... Experience as a supervisor or manager in the restaurant/food industry. Embrace and embody Ian's Standards for Customer Service, Food Quality, and the Big Five Code of Conduct. Learn what to prioritize and when to ask for help. Communicate well and often. Keep busy even when no one is watching to get the job done. Arrive on time, ready to go, and follow through on tasks. Practice generosity with your time and bring positive energy to the job. Interested in making a career move to Ian's Pizza and ready to learn and grow! Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. To bend, crouch, and lift up to 20-50 lbs. To use ovens, pizza cutters, and other equipment of the business. Cross-trained and regularly able to perform all entry-level positions (Front of House, Cook, Delivery) within 6 months of being placed in position. Must complete a food safety certification course within 4 months of being placed in position. English language proficiency required for this position. Must be 18+ to apply. Scheduling This position is salaried for 45 hours per week: 20-30 hours in operations/on-shift, about 5-10 hours on people development and training, and about 5-10 hours on administration and meetings. 9-5 is a Dolly Parton song, not a job at Ian's Pizza. We expect managers to have availability for Late Night shifts once a week as well as availability for rotating weekends. Note, opening shifts typically start 1-2 hours before opening time, and closing shifts typically end 1-2 hours after closing time. As a leader in the restaurant, you will work with the leadership team to be available for emergencies and help find coverage or cover shifts as needed. Wages and Other Benefits The salary for this position starts at $40,000 annually with a minimum guarantee of $47,000 annually with tips and bonuses. Once training (~9 months) is complete, you'll receive a raise to $42,000 annually with a minimum guarantee of $50,000 annually with tips and bonuses. Amazing tips, for real. Flexible schedules.
