Elsa is a 4-year 5-month old Border Collie mix weighing 50 pounds who came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. She came to us with an ear and skin infection, she has been seen and treated by a veterinarian and is currently on Apoqel for suspected allergies which should continue in her new home along with a special diet. She is also on prozac for her anxiety, both medications will most likely be needed for the rest of her life. Elsa is a smart, sweet and affectionate girl who is nervous with new people and situations. Once she gets to know you her personality comes out! She is high energy, she loves walks and playing fetch. She LOVES playing with balls and is good on a leash. Her breed needs an active lifestyle. She is treat motivated and knows commands sit and shake. She is an escape artist as she can climb a 7 foot fence. Separation anxiety is also suspected. Elsa is good with other dogs as long as she is alpha, she can also be a bit jealous.Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
