THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Employment Services Specialist for Youth to provide comprehensive support and guidance to young people seeking employment and career development opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a strong understanding of employment laws and regulations. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Employment Services Specialist for Youth supports and guides young job seekers (16-30 years old) and connects them with employment opportunities. This role involves working with a range of youth clients to provide career guidance, job search assistance, and job readiness training and educational opportunities. Additionally, the Employment Services Specialist for Youth is tasked to positively impact the community, facing adversity and difficulty head-on with a sense of passion and pride that reflects the values of the Greater Sacramento Urban League. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop and maintain relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities for youth clients. Work with clients to assess their skills and interests and develop individualized career plans. Provide job search assistance, including resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job matching. Conduct workshops on job search skills, workplace etiquette, and financial literacy as part of job readiness training. Implement an Individualized Employment Plan and assist with resume writing, interviewing skills, interpersonal communication, etc. Facilitate connections between clients and community resources, such as education and training programs, mentorship opportunities, and support services. Track and report on program outcomes, such as client employment outcomes, program participation, and client/employer satisfaction. Provide recruitment and outreach plans and activities to access Youth clients Identify job opportunities based on clients' skill assessments Assist Employment Services Specialist Team Leader and Director of Workforce Development with other duties assigned EDUCATION and REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree (preferred) in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. Experience working with youth, particularly in career guidance and job readiness. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, employers, and community partners. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of local job market trends and employment resources and ability to stay current on changes and updates in the field. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
