As the General Manager you will plan and direct all restaurant day-to-day operations and are accountable for key financial and performance measures, including sales, service recovery, health & safety, cleanliness inspections, guest experience, social media engagement and employee development & retention. What You Will Be Doing: Duties & Responsibilities Perform opening and closing checklists Create shift schedules, always ensuring adequate staffing levels Order food and beverage inventory Hire, train, coach and terminate staff Actively generate content for social media Manage labor, food, and beverage cost to align with budget Perform closing duties including, cash crop, tip outs, cash drawer is balanced Maintain petty cash and proper cash drawers bill denominations Submit proper reports to accounting Develop, execute, and maintain Marketing Plan Driving and maintaining activity in the market, while creating awareness for trial and repeat business Financial & Restaurant Profitability Review, understand and operate towards the business goals and financial targets Suggest operational improvements that drive restaurant sales or reduce costs Identify opportunities and best practices to improve profitability Maintain desirable margins and ensure inventory accuracy Continuously seek new business opportunities including, special events, activations, and specials Food & Restaurant Safety Ensure compliance with employment standards, health and safety Ensure effective implementation and compliance of food safe and pest control programs Lead and drive restaurant quality checks including cleanliness inspections Submit requests for repairs and maintenance of the equipment and facility when required Guest Experience Touch tables to ensure guest satisfaction and immediate feed back Spend time in the kitchen observing food prep, cooking in order to maintain quality, and consistency Observe, assess, and score the restaurant based on the pre-set brand standards Coach management and employees in the moment to educate and inspire a change in behavior Identify restaurant opportunities based on guest feedback and develop action plans to present to ownership Ensure negative guest experience issues which have been identified, are resolved Employee Engagement & Development Train, coach and develop staff to deliver a positive and performance-motivated employee culture Ensure that the restaurant is fully staffed with the right people by adhering to approved recruitment process developing and retaining great employees and maintaining a pipeline of candidates ready to fill vacancies Support corporate HR Department's employee policies, procedures, and programs for a consistent experience for all employees Ensure all employee relations inquiries and complaints are handled promptly Experience Minimum 2 years hospitality/food & beverage industry experience in a leadership role Secondary Education or equivalent proven and related work experience Food Safety and Responsible Alcohol Service certifications as required Skills & Qualifications Strong communication skills in English; Japanese is considered an asset Strong leadership skills with an entrepreneurial spirit Driver of sales, profitability, and operational efficiency Proven history of hiring, coaching, and training Proven history of successfully motivating and managing people Positive attitude and willingness to always push to be better Effective conflict management skills High level of attention to detail Social media savvy About Us: From humble beginnings in 2006 to an enterprise being driven by more than 1,000 people today, Midas Hospitality has never lost sight of our #1 priority - people.
