Hi, my name is Memphis. I am a shy boy that takes a minute to warm up to you. But once I have I will be your bestest friend. I love to give hugs and be loved on and get lots of snuggles. I do jump up when I'm excited so its best I'm not around small children, they also kind of make me nervous with the loud noise and quick energy. I take a little bit longer to warm up to men, the nice people aren't really sure why. But if you sit next to me I will come over and ask for some pets. I am very playful and love to run around the yard and stretch my legs. The way to my heart is like most men, with food. Treats will be the best thing when you are trying to get me to come out of my shell and warm up to you. I do have a bit of toy aggression, meaning I don't want to share the toys that are mine but its usually only with other animals, so make sure to be careful of that. I already know how to sit on command, my previous family taught me that with the help of tasty snacks. I need a little bit of practice on the leash as I may pull or chew on the leash, try a harness that will probably work better. Once I trust you I will be a real sweetheart and will show you what a fun loving guy I really am. Something new that the volunteers learned about me is that I like to go swimming in the lake, so be sure to take me sometimes; or maybe even a doggy pool in the backyard. Although car rides are not my favorite, I will need to get used to that to be able to go on fun adventures with you. One other thing that is my most favorite thing of all, is playing fetch. I could chase that round green tennis ball for hours! We feel that he needs to be the only pet in the home.
