Tax Preparer Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Madisonville, KY, 42431 Duties and Responsibilities Jackson Hewitt Tax Service is Now Hiring for the upcoming tax season. These positions will start in January, but training starts NOW!! Job includes preparing individual income tax returns, providing excellent customer service and basic office work. Candidate would need to complete our Basic Tax Preparation course either online or in a traditional classroom and be able to obtain a PTIN once the course is finished. The Basic Tax Preparation Course tuition is FREE! There is a $25 book deposit that is reimbursed once the course has been completed. Students who have successfully completed the course will be invited to apply for any open positions which would include a criminal background check. We will have positions available at various locations. These are perfect jobs for college students, parents with school aged children, retired individuals, or anyone that needs a flexible schedule. Whether you are able to work 20 hours or 60 hours per week, we do have flexible schedules available. Experience is helpful but not necessary WE WILL TRAIN the right person. Job Description - Tax Preparer: Conducts an in-depth interview with the client and obtains all information and material required for tax preparation. Fully communicates to client the procedures, paperwork, and time frames applicable to the service being provided. Accurately prepares all paperwork and completes all required data entry according to office policy and procedure. * Knowledge sets include: Desktop computers, Excellent Customer Service, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office software. * Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses. * Use all appropriate adjustments, deductions, and credits to keep clients' taxes to a minimum. * Interview clients to obtain additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances. * Check data input or verify totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures. * Prepared tax returns for individuals and small businesses. * Operated office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, adding machines, printers and fax machines. Nature of Work Duration: Full Time, Seasonal Normal Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Working Hour per Week: 40 hour(s) Normal Work Shifts: Any Shift Salary Range: 8.75 - 10.50 /Hour
