Meet SocksSay hello to Miss Socks! Socks is a beautiful Chihuahua who is approximately 6 years old and weighs 10 pounds. She and her little friend Monkey came into our care after they were owner-surrendered. We do not know about her background, but we can tell you that although she is a little shy right now, she is a very kind-hearted dog who we know will make a sweet companion. Socks is a happy, playful little lady who enjoys playing with toys and getting some yummy treats. She loves to be held and really just likes spending time with her person. She is the sweetest little soul who would be a great family member for someone who wants a loyal and loving buddy. She gets along well with her little friend Monkey, so they could be adopted as a pair...if you are looking for double the Chihuahua fun. Socks would do best in a quieter home without small children so she can settle in and get to know her new family. We just love this little sweetheart and can’t wait for her to find her forever home! Socks is located in a loving foster home in San Antonio, Texas and is available for transport to Clearwater, Florida on December 23, 2023. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $400. The fee includes the transport cost. ***Please note: If approved to adopt, you MUST be available to pick up Socks at our adoption event in Clearwater the morning of 12/23. *Socks did test positive for heart worm and is currently being treated. She also tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment with us. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
