Meet King, The Braveheart Seeking a Patient Companion! King is an 8-month-old male with a courageous spirit and a heart longing for connection. King is seeking a forever home with someone ready to provide the love and patience he needs. King is not yet housebroken and will need patient adopters to help him learn. A schedule of frequent short "potty walks" is advised, with positive reinforcement when he succeeds outdoors. Crate training is an excellent tool for potty training, offering a safe and happy space. Adopters should be prepared for potential challenges. Inconsistent access to food in the past may lead to guarding behaviors, so feeding in a private, undisturbed area such as a crate is advised. King has not been socialized with other dogs and may exhibit reactivity. Slow introductions and playdates with well-socialized dogs are recommended. King faces challenges stemming from a lack of socialization and training, because of this he is considered a Special Care animal. He is currently on Fluoxetine, a medication to help manage Fear, Anxiety, and Stress. His journey to adjustment may be slow, and a dedicated adopter committed to ongoing training is essential. He should be kept on the medication unless a private veterinarian determines it is no longer needed. King is a survivor, ready to embark on a new chapter with a compassionate companion.
