Description:

Purchasing more than one of my many items here on eBay? Automatically combine the shipping by using the “Add to cart” button. When all the items you need are added to your cart, use the “Go to cart” option to check out. Easy! The Walnut and Rosewood out of which these banjo bridges are made come from various locations and are carefully salvaged, graded and hand selected for its acoustic properties and responsiveness making these banjo bridges a little lighter for their size, making them a bit drier and slightly more focused in tone and are exceptionally balanced both in the lower and higher positions! We make them right here in our workshop in Virginia, USA and are very proud of that! Most banjos today are issued with a 5/8" tall, standard string spacing. There are many other variations, however. If you already know what is installed on your current banjo, all you need to do is select the height and string spacing from the drop-down menu when purchasing. Otherwise, I recommend either a small metal ruler (never a measuring tape) to carefully measure the height of your bridge. I'd also like to recommend our Dotson Banjo Bridge Ruler. You can find those here on eBay as well. It will allow you to quickly and accurately measure the height and string spacing of your current bridge. We use them in the shop all the time, and they are quite handy in your case or your own workshop.Standard string spacing is measured from the center of the first string to the center of the 5th string. Standard spacing measures 1-11/16" Crowe spacing will measure 1-3/4". You may notice that older bridges and imports are slightly shorter than standard spacing, so if your measurement is a little short, you'll need a standard spacing.I get to work on some of the rarest and most expensive banjos on the planet and I know good tone. These bridges pump out amazing volume, tone, power and clarity without sounding muddy, subdued or shrill. Only hot hide glue is used to attach select Rosewood caps to the old, hand-selected Walnut, and if the wood didn't sound good to me when I handled it, it got tossed into the scrap box. I never use curly shop scraps or figured wood. Only straight-grained, old walnut is used, which produces this kind of clearity and acoustic annunciation and allows vibrations to transmit more freely. Figure is pretty for necks and resonators, but in a bridge, figure will reroute the vibrations and scatter or bounce sound waves, and that can pinch and mute the volume and the tone of your banjo. I use CNC technology to produce these bridges and they are as consistent as is possible. Thank you for looking and please let me know if you have any questions. My Family and I thank you for your business!Sincerely,Richie DotsonAcoustic Box LLCChesterfield, Virginia
