This Vintage 1950s Kron K119 Flying Duck Planter TV Lamp was the very first design developed by Howard Kron for Texans Incorporated, and while it was made for years it is still unusual today. It is made from two separate molds, over 151/2" tall, and extremely heavy! The reality that it's larger and even more "significant" than other TELEVISION lamps is reflected in the initial wholesale rate of $4.45 each. It retailed for around $7.00 at a time when most TV lamps cost under $4.00. The mallard has the common Kron "brand name." This light lugs the Kron marking two times, on the lamp and once again on the planter portion. "Kron" TV lights were created by Howard Kron, a talented artist and ceramics engineer who was the main designer for Texans Incorporated, a ceramics maker in the small Texas town of Bangs. (tvlamps.net, n.d.). This light was originally purchased by my grandmother-in-law and according to my previous other half sat on the TELEVISION for as long as he could bear in mind. My mother-in-law and father-in-law acquired it with the passing of Grandmommie and Granddaddy. I make certain it was of vital value to Grandmommie as Bangs, Texas is not very far from our home town and there is an excellent possibility that she understood the artist personally. It is in excellent condition with the exception of one wing pointer having been broken off at some point, but it was glued back on so it is still intact and works completely.
